Laylo’s integrations with Instagram and Shopify are great for promoting and selling merchandise. Follow these key steps to create buzz and drive sales now and in the future.
Build Your Tour Drop
Before kicking off your campaign, use this step-by-step guide to build out a drop page for your merch.
🤫 Keep your drop in draft mode while you build it. Publish it once you’re ready to announce the merch and share the drop with fans.
Pro Tip: Shopify Integration
If you have a Shopify store, you can integrate it with your Laylo and automatically add emails and phone numbers from fans who purchased merch.
You’ll also be able to segment based on what products fans have bought in the past. This allows you to send targeted messages with specific offers based on buying behavior. Overtime, you will see how much a fan spends in your fan analytics.
⚠️ You must have SMS Opt-In enabled at your Shopify Checkout. Laylo will not pull data from buyers who do not opt into future marketing. Please follow this guide for enabling.
💡 The Shopify integration is currently early access. If you’re interested please email chris@laylo.com or contact@laylo.com to quickly get set up!
Day 1: Build Suspense
It helps to tease your fans with an upcoming special announcement.
You can either be direct about what’s about to drop or be vague to keep your fans on their toes and have them speculating.
⏰ Want more signups? Give your fans a reason not to miss out! They should feel early and like their first in line.
Day 2: Collect Sign Ups
The best way to collect sign ups quickly is to use Laylo’s Instagram integration to strategically get fans to opt in the second they see your announcement.
On Instagram, tell your fans to DM you the special keyword to automatically get notified before anyone else. It’s smart to make the keyword on brand to you or related to your tour.

Website Embed
If you have a website, you should use Laylo’s API to embed the Laylo drop and collect sign ups.
💡 With the embed, you can build custom call to actions and designs in and around the sign up widget.
Day 3: Early Access (Optional)
If you want to reward fans who joined your Laylo, then add a special link and early access code to your drop day message.
Day 4: General Release
Now that you have a list of fans who’ve expressed interest in your merch, you can keep them updated before, during and after the general release.
Follow this guide for scheduling messages. You can either target the message to only go to your fans who signed up for the drop or send it all to all of the fans on your list.
🤝 Bella Poarch hit her fans up an hour before the drop with more exclusive info about a meet and greet!
🙉 During the week of the drop, Friday Beers sent regular updates and reminders to hype the drop and create FOMO.
Next Week: Exclusive Access to Future Drops
Your fans want to see you win, so keep them updated on how successful your drop is! If you sell out your merch, let them know and send a thank you message for their support.
It’s also smart to remind them that they’re now locked in to be the first to know about future releases before anyone else.
