What is Laylo?

Laylo helps creators, brands, events, etc. directly reach their fans and promote their products. It allows them to easily create drops which are landing pages with notifications that can automatically send to fans. This allows fans to get notified however they'd like to whether via text, email or Instagram DMs. Take a look at the case studies on this page to see how others have used it to drop content, tickets, merch, giveaways, exclusive clubs and more.

How do I create my first Drop?

Creating a Drop is simple and only takes a couple of minutes. In your Laylo dashboard, hit the “New Drop” button and follow these steps:

Add your image, title, date, and your Drop Day Message – this is what fans will receive when your drop goes live (like a link to your music, video, or merch).
Customize the look of your page – adjust colors, fonts, and more to match your brand.
Add your RSVP Confirmation Message (what fans receive when they sign up)
Once your drop is made, head to the Advanced tab:
- Turn on Instagram DM integration or Instagram Comment capture
- Add SMS keywords so fans can sign up via text
- Turn your drop into a Spotify Presave
- Choose and reorder signup options (email, phone)

Once everything looks good, hit publish and start sharing your Drop!

Can I use Laylo if I don't have music or an event coming up?

Absolutely! Laylo isn’t just for music releases or ticketed events – it’s for any big announcement or content drop you want to share with your audience. You can use Laylo to notify fans about new videos, blog posts, product launches, giveaways, podcast episodes, or whatever you’re creating. Even if you’re between major releases, you can still collect fan signups and keep them warm with updates or surprise drops. In short, if you have fans and something to share with them, you can use Laylo to do it.

How do fans sign up and what do they receive?

Fans can sign up through any Laylo link you share – either a drop page for a specific release or your main profile page. They’ll be asked to enter their email and/or phone number (or they can sign up via an Instagram DM flow) so you can contact them. After signing up, they immediately get a confirmation message (which you can customize – for example, “Thanks for signing up! You’ll be the first to know when it drops”). When your drop actually goes live, those fans automatically receive your Drop Day Message – typically a notification with the link or content you’re releasing – straight to their email, or phone. Essentially, they sign up once and get all the goodies you’ve promised, right on time.

How do I schedule messages?

Scheduling messages in Laylo is super handy when you want a message to go out at a specific future time (for example, exactly when your drop goes live, or maybe on a fan’s birthday). When you compose a new message in Laylo’s messaging tab, you’ll have the option to send it immediately or schedule it for later. Just choose your send date and time, and Laylo will automatically deliver the message to your selected fans at that moment – even if you’re asleep or busy, it’s got you covered. This is perfect for setting up “Drop Day” reminders or coordinating a series of messages in advance.

Email & SMS

Why doesn't Laylo track email open rates?

Due to Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection (iOS 15+), email open rates are no longer reliable. Apple preloads email content, which can falsely register emails as "opened" even if the recipient never interacted with them. Since this significantly inflates open rate data, we’ve moved away from using opens as a performance metric and instead recommend focusing on click-throughs and fan engagement for more accurate insights.

What happens to my data if I cancel my plan?

The data is always yours and will be there for you. However if you have a custom phone number on your account then that will be lost. We can't hold onto those for you which is why we don't have a way to pause accounts. Truthfully I'd recommend keeping the account active if you plan to return either way. You can also pay for an annual subscription up front and have it set for the year. Benefit of that is that it comes with 25,0000 message credits for you to use.
